The "Ben" in Ben's Art Shop is me, Bennett Graham Abrahamson--I know, sounds like a law firm. That's why I use my first and middle name as my designer name and shorten the whole thing to just Ben for the jewelry site name. I've also worked in TV news and multimedia graphic design for years; check out my other site, www.bennettgraham.com, for more on that.
For my jewelry creations I mix the inspiration of forms from nature with industrial and urban influences to come up with a modern feel I call "urban techno/primitive". Timeless beauty crossed with quirky playfulness is my signature look. I agree with the Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí when he said "Those who look for the laws of Nature as a support for their new works collaborate with the Creator." He believed there was no art without efficient and elegant structure. For me, what makes jewelry design so exciting is that it is a lot like architecture in that form often follows function; structural specifications are always playing a part in the final design.
